A trip for photographer in search of the natural beauty of the far north. In the Taiga of Finnish Lapland we will go in search of wild animals, incredible landscapes, the Northern Lights, rivers, lakes and waterfalls and much more. Brown bears, sea eagles, golden eagles, Siberian jays, flying squirrels, reindeer and many other animals will be the protagonists of this journey, among the wonderful colors of ruska, the foliage of Finland...
Where?
Kuusamo and surrounding areas
Kuusamo is a city in northern Finland, just below the Arctic Circle. It is the gateway to Lapland and is an important tourist center both for sporting activities, especially winter ones, and for nature lovers. In fact, there are several national parks and nature reserves around it. The number of lakes and ponds around the city is infinite. Wonderful places to observe whooper swans and the Northern Lights reflecting in the water. The forests never end and in September they are colored with the yellow of the birch trees and the red of the various blueberry species that fill the undergrowth.
Oulanka National Park
Oulanka National Park is located in the municipalities of Kuusamo and Salla, on the border with Russia. It is made up of pine forests crossed by several river valleys whose landscape is amazing. There are numerous routes that cross this environment. The White-throated dipper finds its ideal habitat here. It's impossible not to spot some confident Siberian jay up close!
Riisitunturi National Park
A mountainous and hilly landscape which in this season are filled with colors and the incredible view of Lake Kitkajärvet. The sunset from up here is remarkable.

From 15 to 22 September 2024
Program
A week trip in September. Departure by plane from Italy and meeting in Kuusamo, in northern Finland. We will stay in a cottage on the shores of Lake Kallunkijarvi near Oulanka National Park. We will have a shuttle available to move between the national parks and the numerous nature reserves in the area. We will try two photo hide in the hope of encountering brown bear, white-tailed sea eagle, golden eagle, sparrowhawk and many other animals. We will visit the wonderful Oulanka park composed of ancient forests crossed by rivers between canyons and waterfalls. We will admire the breathtaking panorama of Lake Kitkajärvet from Mount Riisintunturi, in the Riisintunturi national park. We will look for whooper swans in the countless lakes around Kuusamo. We will wait for the exciting Northern Lights in the cold nights of the Arctic Circle... and many other emotions!
