We will spend the day in Val Lomasona and in the area of Passo del Ballino, among bogs, prairies, lakes and small marshes, in search of alpine microfauna to photograph. We will visit the Camerona cave with its immense entrance. All this right in between the Mediterranean climate of Lake Garda and the Alpine climate.
We will spend the day in Val di Ledro, among hidden side valleys, waterfalls and high-altitude alpine meadows. We will find the rare Aquilegia thalictrifolia, which blooms at the base of limestone and dolomitic rock walls, in very humid environments and subject to intense dripping. We will have the opportunity to enjoy many other blooms, including several species of wild orchids and the magnificent tufted horned rampion. All while immersed in a truly picturesque and unique landscape. There will be no shortage of butterflies and other insects to photograph. In the afternoon we will travel to the Tremalzo mountains to admire the view.
A day inside the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, within the very heart of the Dolomites. If we are lucky, we might find the lady's-slipper still in bloom, as well as its entirely yellow subspecies Cypripedium calceolus flavum. In addition to them, we will have the chance to photograph other alpine flowers, including rare endemics such as Gymnadenia buschmanniae. Please note: The flowering of orchids may vary depending on weather conditions, so there is no guarantee that we will find them. However, there will be plenty of opportunities to get stunning shots of other subjects.
The incredible waterfalls of Vallesinella, in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites, as well as lots of flowers and alpine insects, will color our photographs. An intense day filled with excitement.
We will go on the hunt for the amphibians that reproduce within the high-altitude alpine lakes located in the stunning setting of the Cornisello lakes. In the afternoon, we will return to Val Nambrone for the final adventure of the workshop, a trip to the mighty Amola Falls.
